Sustainable Pig Farming Delegation Taiwan

DAFC and the Trade Council of Denmark in Taipei invite you to participate in an export delegation to Taiwan focusing on sustainable pig farming.

Following recent ambitions on Taiwan to transform the pig production industry to be more sustainable, the market for sustainable solutions within pig farming offers great opportunities for Danish companies. This delegation will give Danish companies the opportunity to meet with future customers, obtain market knowledge and expand networks.

The key drivers for investment on Taiwan in advanced and green solutions within pig farming are:

1) The goal on Taiwan is to reach net zero emission for agriculture production by 2040. A significant amount of budget is allocated to support the net zero initiative.

2) Strict environmental regulations and the public demand for clean neighbourhoods nearby the farms. High demand for solutions for reducing farm waste, odour, and wastewater treatment. Farmers need to pay a fee to get rid of pig manure and bedding material.

3) The sector faces labour shortages, and it is difficult to attract people to work in the farms. The industry is keen to introduce automotive and smart farming solutions. Subsidies are being provided to farmers to carry out relevant investments. Danish solutions presented by the companies during this delegation can help tackle these challenges, contribute to the green transition on Taiwan and tap into the commercial opportunities connected to solving these issues.
